this is pretty sweet but

im not getting the distant feel i recommend you add some reverb and slightly ambient parts that break off and have some sort of compressed drum loop that comes in slowly. and introduces a new melody or something... idk experiment, its not quiet distant yet. great song, im not going to bring my rating down just because it doesn't have that much reverb. its cool now, but perhaps doesn't follow exactly what you were going for.
5/5 nice change up with that saw. imma go check out the other song above this one on the chart. loops very nicely.

I know, i dont know too much about music techniques yet so ill try it out and thanks for the help ;D

everything in this is amazing

of course everyone is going to be like omg i love that guitar, its sick. but all the other instruments are backing it up perfectly. you guys are definitely in sync with each other and the composing is just so great, transitions beautifully. turn up the bass a little, it was jammin' back there.
5/5 this was the first rock song i downloaded and in my opinion the only one worth the click. simply amazing right here.

Musical-Pants responds:

Wow, thanks!
The drums came first, (that took me awhile) then we just lay down an old bassline we didn't have any other use for, we let Frank loose, and this is the end result.
Not bad bad for a patchwork job huh?
Thanks for the review!

certainly its not bad but

theres more to a song than a hard kick... thats main thing you have going for you with this. the synth is alright but thats like the only other instrument besides the bass, and its melody is pretty bland and repetitive, basically im saying you could elaborate on this and add more bg instruments and explore more options for the melody.

CLKIN responds:

thats what im going to do for the full version
thanks

lol, no joke i was heading for the exit button

but then i read the guys review below me and though i'd wait. it was worth it. you had some really sick beats and sfx in there. i like the bass but maybe there is a little too much distortion on it at times. but really, you need to change the beginning. maybe you should master the thing that first gets attention with the most care.
nice job though. 5/5 and a download. but there are still somethings to work on.
i have a dnb i posted a while ago, maybe you could check it out, i think its a little different than this one though !D

suppi responds:

i just removed the beginning actually, hopefully ppl will like it better now

why does this have such a low rating!!!

this awesome! those sick drums just keep it flowing, the bass is just driving it through, and the guitar has some great eqing. this song has style and i guess thats what people are missing when they vote it down into the three's. get someone good to do the lyrics. it might sound good if they can rap but i think you have something sweet right here.
5/5

bigbeek responds:

yea im searching and im on a tight deadline cuz submissions for the contest close july 9 th so im looking for anyone that awesome and willing to do the rap

and yea i'll give your page a look

sounds good but needs work

the first bit was really nice and had the ambiance that you want in an... ambient song... like the nice reverb and distant percussion but i think once you introduce the bass and guitar everything gets really muddy. maybe those instruments have too much reverb and all of it piled on top of one another makes it dirty. try cleaning that part up and maybe have more of that awesome intro before you have too much going on. also i liked the sfx you had going on behind the guitar and bass.
keep up the work on this and pm me when you finish it. and if you have the time, could you check out my two latest songs, i'd appreciate it.

Thanks for the tips :) I'll certainly check out your songs when I get a chance.

awesome job

very unique mix of styles... i've never heard anything of its kind before. and with such basic samples too. nice job.
in my opinion, this should have been the first of the week.

Thanks for the review, man!

ill be honest and

tell you i wasn't a fan of your stuff at all really, but listening to this i'm getting down to it, but i really like your instrument choice. i can see you use FL but where do you get the swooshing sfx? it adds a cool effect. one thing this song lacks is uniqueness. the melody choice just doesn't stick with me. its more the choice of instruments, like i said, and the way you started out the song... (i think you should have continued in that direction btw) ... that hooked me.
great job nonetheless obviously. 5/5
if you'd care to, i have a new song i submitted last week. it'd mean a lot if you took a listen. thanks and keep these songs comin'

Mrmilkcarton responds:

Well you took the time to tell me what you liked and didn't like so I'll take the time to see your stuff too. I didn't really have much effect on the melody because I wanted to keep the melody close to the original as it being a remix.

For the sweeps you can use anything that creates white noise. The right mixing and XY controls can get you the effect you want.

awesome. but

i think the biggest or maybe only problem is the recording quality of the vocals. i think you could have even fixed it with some clever mastering. its just that it doesn't match up with the quality of the rest of the piece. the composition of the song is good but vocals and perhaps even the tone of the singing messes things up a bit.

MaestroRage responds:

Well, as I've stated on my other name, I can't afford good equipment right now. We're poor, and writing music for free doesn't exactly make me some kind of a supestar. No, I was not off key. I've listened to it constantly, and I made sure it was on the right pitch. That's the first thing I concentrate on. Thanks for listening.
-LadyArsenic <3

you're not that bad for starting but

you need to do a few things. make your own synths... we've all heard the one you used here. don't go too crazy on the kick, too loud can also be a bad thing. get some new instruments in there. ....aaaannnddd. uhm good luck, seems like you're going in a good direction. 4/5

mind taking some time to listen to my stuff? i am also in need of feedback. ^^
